One year ago, on June 25, 2024, we held our first neighborhood meeting right here in a local driveway. Over 100 community members came that night to join together, create this powerful group, and make our voices heard. Looking back over the past year, we are so proud of the growth and accomplishments this group has seen! Thank you all for being a part of NLPG!

Join us Tuesday night as we walk together and enjoy some tasty summertime treats!
Suzi Rumohr won the Denton City Council D3 seat in the June run-off election. Congratulations to our new council person!
The Denton Record Chronicle posted another article about the strong work the NLPG has done over the last 10 months! This caption from their Facebook page says it all.
"A group of North Lakes neighbors united to halt a proposed apartment development, using their diverse skills to challenge zoning changes and environmental amendments. Their organized efforts led the developer to withdraw plans."
“[The developer] withdrew council consideration for a specific-use permit and alternative ESA amendment, leaving behind a more organized neighborhood community while showcasing how neighborhoods are stronger together if they want to stop development plans that need City Council’s approval."

Join NLPG for our 2nd community cleanup project with Denton’s Adopt-A-Spot program.
Why Adopt? Being an Adopter gives us an opportunity to give back to our community, teach our children about community responsibility, receive positive publicity for our neighborhood, and gain valuable community volunteer experience. Plus, it’s fun!
